It is traditionally used in cordials and tonics and can be prepared as a hot tea or cold beverage. It has a root beer-like flavor with hints of vanilla, wintergreen and licorice.

    To prepare as a tea, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of herb to 8 oz. water in a pot. Cover and simmer for 15 to 30 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
